The Renaissance discovery of optical perspective was prominently celebrated in the Sala Delle Prospettive, designed by Baldassare Peruzzi in the Villa Farnesina in Rome. Mario Gagliardi designed this rug as a modern hommage to the discoveries of the Renaissance.
