An hommage to the Malanotti De Caldes, who next to their own production of fine textiles also  imported Chinese silk to Venice, this rug is inspired by The Story of the Stone, an 18th-century Chinese story. It is one of the four great classical novels of Chinese literature and a memorial to the women Author Cao Xueqin knew in his youth.
