A distilled exercise in sculptural minimalism with a nod to postmodern design. Its presence is defined not by ornament, but by the choreography of its legs: cylindrical supports that descend in an animated rhythm, as if caught mid-movement. This interruption of the expected straight vertical destabilizes convention, while retaining an elegant structural logic. At first glance, it is a table in its most essential form: a flat plane held aloft. Yet the detailing of the legs introduces ambiguity. By distilling form to its bones while inserting a subtle disruption, function has not been denied, but reframed.
The top plate of the Metamorfosi table series is constructed from a handwelded steel frame on which a hand-polished Ash veneer is applied. The four legs are hand-lathed and hand-carved and polished in solid Ash wood.
Named after deities in Ovid’s Metamorphoses, Metamorfosi are offered with four different, exchangeable leg designs.
