In ceramic art, vivid color was a result of imperial admiration for European enamel objects. Eugenie Malanotti De Caldes, grandmother of De Caldes designer Mario Gagliardi, in reverence to these friendships collected Chinese porcelain objects and raised Japanese cherry trees in her vast garden. Handcrafted and hand-carved by De Caldes artisans in 100% New Zealand wool, this exceptional rug comes in two color variations: Shades of yellow and purple, and shades of tangerine and blue.
